The Essentials
When is the Race? 7am – August 4th, 2013.
Where is the Race? Smithville Lake Crow’s Creek Park, Smithville, MO
Race Fees: Individuals: $70 until April 30th, $80 until June 30th & after that $90. Teams: $50 per teammate (teams of 2 or 3).
Packet Pick-up: This event is a USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned event. Athletes are required to be present with a photo I.D. and annual USAT membership card (if you have one) at packet pick-up. USAT does not allow others to pick-up packets on your behalf. Athletes will not be allowed to take race materials without a photo I.D. If you are not a USAT member you will be required to purchase a one day pass during registration ($12 for adults, $10 for youth/17 and under as a credit card payment).

Course Closing - IMPORTANT: Smithville Lake Parks and Recreation will be closing the course at 6:30 AM, and no one can get in or out from that point until the last athlete has left the bike course. Alternative parking will be available if you come late, however it involves a 2 mile hike. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…
Awards: There will be awards given for the top 3 male and top 3 female athletes overall, top 3 male and top 3 female athletes in each age group as well as the top team (one team will win and we will provide each person on the team with an award, not the top 3 teams).
Age Groups:
Under 24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60 & up.
The Course
Course Distances: 500 meter swim, 9 mile bike, 5K run
Swim Start: The swim start WILL be a time trial start where athletes enter the water approximately every five seconds. Starting at 7 minutes and going up to 14, there will be minute-marker signs for athletes to place themselves in line according to the swim time that is most comfortable. If faster than 7 minutes stand in front of the 7 minute sign and if slower than 14 minutes stand at the end of the 14 minute line.
Aid Stations: There will be three aid stations along the course – one just outside of the transition area and two along the run course. Water and an electrolyte drink mix (Gatorade) will be provided at each aid station.
